Services that hold up in production

I'm a backend engineer with a Computer Science degree from Mansoura University and about three years of professional experience. Most of that time has gone into services that businesses rely on every day: inventory, purchasing, order management, point of sale and tax compliance.

I care about the less visible parts of the job: clean API contracts, sensible data models, fast queries and releases that are easy to roll back. I like working close to the people who use what I build, whether that's a warehouse team or a store manager, and turning their day-to-day problems into product decisions.

I also build AI features: LLM integrations, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic matching and forecasting. My team's AI data-analysis platform, Lotus, won the Cairo AI Hackathon 2025.

  1. – Present Cairo · On-site

    Software Engineer @ Kulsys Technologies

    Backend engineer on Scalicx, an RFID-based ERP platform for garment and textile manufacturers.

    • Design and ship the REST APIs for inventory, purchasing, production tracking and order management, used by 15+ manufacturers across 30+ production sites.
    • Built the RFID ingestion pipeline, which turns 200k+ tag reads a day into live stock and work-in-progress data on the factory floor.
    • Brought inventory reporting latency down from 2.8s to 650ms through query optimisation, indexing and caching.
    • Moved releases to containerised deployments, cutting release time from 30 to under 10 minutes and making rollbacks routine.

    Software Engineer @ myGINNE

    Retail management platform covering sales, inventory and point of sale for 50+ retailers.

    • Led the Egyptian Tax Authority (eTax) integration, which automated tax compliance and e-receipts for every transaction and removed manual receipt processing for 50+ retailers.
    • Designed admin dashboards and role-based access control used by 100+ users.
    • Designed and optimised the REST APIs for the core sales and inventory modules.
    • Integrated third-party platforms such as Zoho to simplify onboarding, subscriptions and sales operations.
    • Helped move point-of-sale web services into a React Native mobile app.
